Mr. Runnells serves as CEO of Suture Concepts and as a board member of Suture Concepts, Anchor Innovation Medical, and Flexuspine Inc. Mr. Runnells works for the Vertical Group, a medical device venture capital group. Mr. Runnells focuses most of his time in the spine and orthopedic markets.
Prior to Suture Concepts, Mr. Runnells held positions at Tornier Inc., including director of US sales force operations, and International Marketing and Business Development Director for Sports Medicine where he launched the sports medicine business in the US and subsequently internationally out of the Grenoble, France headquarters. Mr. Runnells arrived at Tornier via its acquisition of Axya Medical where he held the position of VP, Business Development. Mr. Runnells went to Axya after serving as a new investment analyst at The Vertical Group. Mr. Runnells started his career at UBS Investment Bank in New York City where his was an Executive Director in equity research managing the Tech Research team and then implementing the new global rating system and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance measures from London. Mr. Runnells received an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at NYU. He received a BA in History and Political Science from Bucknell University. |

Mr. Sorensen serves as principal engineer of Suture Concepts. Mr. Sorensen is responsible for new product development engineering, schedule management, engineering budgeting, and design transfer to contract manufacturers.
Mr. Sorensen has significant knowledge of surgeon & product needs for arthroscopic repairs of the shoulder, hip and knee. He also has extensive experience with myriad implant and engineering materials, injection molding and traditional manufacturing methods and practices. Prior to Suture Concepts, Mr. Sorensen held a number of positions with increasing responsibility at Axya Medical and within Smith & Nephew’s Advanced Surgical Devices division. Mr. Sorensen received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston MA. |

Ms. Coulter serves as the Director of Commercial Operations of Suture Concepts through a contractual agreement. Ms. Coulter is primarily responsible for managing Suture Concepts’ commercial relationships, as well as assisting physicians and independent representatives with training and support. Ms. Coulter has over 20+ years of corporate experience. Ms. Coulter has worked in healthcare for thirteen years with the last seven focusing on the spine and orthopedic markets.
Ms. Coulter will lead the Commercial Operations capabilities in field sales and inventory management by applying Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility and customer/client satisfaction. Ms. Coulter will ensure all processes within the Commercial Operations continue to be compliant and support quality efforts. Ms. Coulter received a BS in Political Science and Government from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh PA. |

Gorman is a technical professional with 30 years of medical device experience including Neurosurgical Devices, Infusion Pumps, Implantable Blood Pumps, Implantable Devices, Respiratory Care Products, Surgical Devices, Orthopedic Devices and Probes. He is experienced in the fields of Quality, Product Development, Project Management, Design Assurance, Quality Systems,Iintellectual Property and Regulatory Interface.
Mr. Gorman has a solid track record of bringing medical devices from concept to market. Mr. Gorman has been the Director of Engineering and Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs in both start-up companies and established medical device companies such as Smith Industries, Pfizer, and Thermo Electron. Mr. Gorman runs Gorman Consulting, a firm specializing in medical device product development, project management, and regulatory affairs. Mr. Gorman holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Certification in Regulatory Affairs from the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS). |
